As a child, Jane enjoyed her ”quiet time”, and spent countless hours collecting, exploring and observing the wonderful array of natural beauty that was concealed in her own back yard. She had a particular fascination for insects, and they became the first subjects of her wirework. These “bugs” gradually led Jane to design sculptures that were actually wearable, but still reflected on the shapes, lines and colours of nature, that have continued to inspire her today.

Jane’s first taste of jewellery design was in metal fabrication, and although she still uses many of these techniques, wirework has become the main feature in her work. Jane fell in love with the versatility, flexibility and detail that could be accomplished with wire.

Through the use of natural shapes and materials, combined with metals, Jane has been in a constant process of discovery and growth…a little engineering, and a lot of inspiration!
